About
Background
The people of Benton County, Oregon, have a history of protecting and providing access to natural, historical and recreation areas, for the public good. In early 2012 a group of citizens formed a friends group to support projects in parks and natural areas throughout Benton County and adjacent areas. The Alliance for Recreation and Natural Areas (AFRANA) emerged from this process in May 2012.

Incorporation & Tax Documents
AFRANA was incorporated as a public benefit nonprofit corporation in the State of Oregon on 21 May 2012. We filed an Internal Revenue Service Form 1023 Application for Recognition of Exemption on 18 July 2012, and were granted our 501(c)(3) nonprofit exemption on 11 September, 2012.
